The beginning of Treasure Finger’s new mix of Miike Snow’s “Animal” reminds me of the awesome karaoke songs that my uncle would sing with his Chinese drunk buddies. Bleep-heavy and synth tastic. Picture a Chinese woman in a sarong walking down the beach. Hot. Anyway, I still love the song.

Oh my god I am going to seriously piss my pants when this album comes out on Feb 17th (check out the tracklisting). I love what I’m hearing already and also having Spank Rock on a song makes me giggly inside. Keep in mind this track is just a preview so its not going to be the best quality in the world. So Minty Fresh Beats decided to pull a Danger Mouse and mixed together Radiohead with Jay-Z to make Jaydiohead. Some of the tracks are a little awkward together but its a listenable album for the most part. Nothing too great to go nuts about but definitely give it a listen just to see what these 2 artists would sound mixed together.

Play those keyboards. Play them hard. Anyway, The Twelves and Cicada played a Bacardi party recently and were asked to remix each other’s songs. The other is The Twelves’ “Be My Crush” that I’m not too into but I am absolutely obsessed with this The Twelves remix right now. Its got your smooth The Twelves sound to it that I’m starting to love.

I know this song is a bit old but Erol Alkans’ remix has been killing hypem for the past couple of days for god knows what reason. If you’ve heard both versions, you’ll know that the “remix” sounds practically the same as the original, which by the way is already a pretty awesome song. Moral of the story: don’t call something a remix if you’re just replaying the original.

More NASA stuff for you guys if you can’t get enough for now. Seriously their songs should be labeled as “NASA featuring A SHIT TON OF OTHER PEOPLE”. The song is pretty okay; nothing too stellar but is a good sampling of what NASA has to offer. If you love Obey and Shepard Fairey like I am, make sure to watch the video.

DJ Falcon’s set for the Banana Split 2 Year Anniversary is out courtesy of Asian Dan. The set is a really interesting mix of music..You got R Kelly’s “I’m a Flirt” in there, some Daft Punk, Ying Yang Twins, I think some Spank Rock and Prince’s “Erotic City” (which is completely underused in mixes. This song is amazing!). However, I think the highlight of it is the first couple of minutes; its a mash up of Alan Braxe’s and Fred Falke’s “Rubicon” and DJ Deeon’s “Let Me Bang”. Its a great mix of smooth, clean French electronic music with DJ Deeon’s dirty lyrics about “big booty bitches”.

This is a little delayed but lifes been busy. Check out this new song by NASA with a gajillion “cool” people on it. It almost reminds me those remixes in mainstream hip hop where everyone and their mother gets on it and all the sudden the song is like 5 minutes long of nonsensical rapping (“Touch It” remix by Busta Rhymes anyone?). It actually looks like the majority of NASA’s upcoming album “The Spirit of Apollo” is going to be like that, but whatever, if its a good song and it makes sense then who the hell cares right? I’m also peeing my pants about the Amanda Blank song on here.

Esso’s publicist looks like hes been swamping people’s inboxes with his freestyle over Justice’s “The Party”. Its not particularly innovative but his verse is a nice touch on one of my favorite songs. Also, after just doing a quick google search on Esso, hes got a remix over “So Many Windows” by Oh! which is pretty amazing too and could be downloaded here. If you check out his MySpace, hes also got freestyles over “Paper Planes” (who doesn’t nowadays) and “Get Fresh” which weren’t particularly amazing and therefore not posted. Pretty interesting that hes going towards mixing “indie” rap but who knows if anything’s going to come of him.

I’m actually not a huge fan of Little Boots (but her play on the Tenori-on was seisure-ific and cool to watch) and I think the original version of “Meddle” is a bit too spastic to me and auto-tuney. But, Treasure Fingers puts his typical mellow disco-y spin on the song AND adds in a duet. Love it.

Aw bromances are cute. Anyway, the beginning of December in New York is going to be really exciting; LA Riots at le poisson rouge on December 5th, Don Rimini at le poisson rouge on the 6th, The Twelves at Europa on the 6th, and now Mark Ronson, Wale, Kid Cudi, Nick Catchdubs and more at Highline Ballroom on December 9th. I’m really excited about this one because the thought of Kid Cudi and Wale in a single concert with a live band makes me giggle…and I’ve always secretly wanted to marry into the Ronson family so this is coooooooool.

Generally I love the crazy bangery stuff but these The Twelves remixes are a good break from that. The Twelves come from Rio de Janeiro and have a smooth sound thats still danceable but doesn’t hurt your ears after 3 hours of listening. Also, make sure to catch them at Europa in Brooklyn on December 6th.
